What is a TIFF file?
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a flexible, lossless raster format widely used in printing, scanning and archival work. It can store high bit-depth images and even multiple pages in a single file, which makes it a standard in professional imaging where quality must be preserved.
How these sample TIFF files were made
The samples are produced as the same labelled colour-gradient test image used across the image section, saved as TIFF in square sizes from 500x500 up to 2048x2048.
Technical details
TIFF is lossless and supports high colour depth, optional layers and multi-page documents. The files are larger than compressed formats such as JPG, which is the expected trade-off for an archival-grade format.
