PDF Sample Files
PDF files are document files which are often used in printing because they display the document in a very similar way to how it would print on paper. Because of their comparatively low file size they are also popular for transferring documents online. Download sample PDF files below, in various file sizes.

What is a PDF file?
PDF (Portable Document Format) is the standard for fixed-layout documents. A PDF looks the same on every device and printer because the layout, fonts and images are all locked into the file. It is the usual choice for final documents, reports, forms and anything intended for print or sharing.
How these sample PDF files were made
The documents are rendered from HTML with the Dompdf engine. The set is designed to cover the cases that commonly break PDF tooling: a document with an embedded image, one with a 20-row data table, a long 50-page document, an A4 document in landscape orientation, and a larger A3-size report. The body text is randomly generated so the files look realistic.
Technical details
The samples cover A4 and A3 paper sizes in both portrait and landscape orientation, with page counts from one to fifty. This lets you test paper-size handling, orientation, multi-page rendering and large-file behaviour.
Common uses
Use these files to test PDF viewers and thumbnail generation, text extraction, page counting, print pipelines, and how an application copes with a long or large document.
